[Getting started](https://resources.symphonycommerce.io/knowledge-base/getting-started?hsLang=en) # How do I navigate the Image Library? ## The Symphony Image Library is where you store and manage the images you’d like to use on your site. ### Navigation Located at the top of the Image Library, you will find the tab navigation that allows you to either upload new images or select from the ones already in your library. ### Upload The Upload panel allows you to copy images from your computer into the Image Library in as little as one click. Drag your image(s) from any file explorer or finder on your computer into the Upload panel to begin uploading. The progress of each upload will be displayed within the panel. ![](https://resources.symphonycommerce.io/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Apr-22-2024-11-38-59-4496-AM.png?width=688&height=287&name=image-png-Apr-22-2024-11-38-59-4496-AM.png) Alternatively, click on the ‘Select Files’ button and use your system’s file manager to select which files to upload. ### What are the image upload requirements? Images must meet the following requirements before uploading: - **Minimum dimensions:** 256px by 256px - **Maximum dimensions:** 4096px by 4096px - **Maximum file size:** 20MB - **Permitted file types:** JPG, JPEG, PNG, or GIF Upload the highest resolution images possible, up to the maximum dimensions of 4096px by 4096px, to ensure image quality across your storefront. ![](https://resources.symphonycommerce.io/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-3.png?width=185&height=219&name=image-png-3.png) ![](https://resources.symphonycommerce.io/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-4.png?width=185&height=229&name=image-png-4.png) ![](https://resources.symphonycommerce.io/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jul-03-2024-11-30-40-2091-AM.png?width=185&height=229&name=image-png-Jul-03-2024-11-30-40-2091-AM.png) ### Library On the Library panel, you can find a search box, search filters and an image panel where you click images to select them for use. ![](https://resources.symphonycommerce.io/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Apr-22-2024-11-34-13-9959-AM.png?width=688&height=141&name=image-png-Apr-22-2024-11-34-13-9959-AM.png) At the top right of the Image Library there’s the Save and Close button, which closes the Image Library and saves your changes. Once on the Image Library, select Stock. Then type in the search bar what image kind you would like to add. All stock images inside Symphony are from Unsplash.   Once you have selected an image, click the top left icon on the image to download into your library. This will automatically guide you back to the upload tab to check its upload progress. ### Select Click on an image to select it; the selected image will be highlighted with a green border. Click on the image again to deselect it. To crop an image, click on the blue notepad in the top left of the image. Here, you can crop the image to square. ![](https://resources.symphonycommerce.io/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Apr-22-2024-11-41-09-5437-AM.png?width=688&height=511&name=image-png-Apr-22-2024-11-41-09-5437-AM.png)   All images uploaded for products, categories and pages are made square by the Image Library for best results on all screen sizes. If the image you are uploading is not square, the Image Library will add extra white space around it to compensate. To remove this white space you can crop the image yourself. You don’t need image editing software installed to resize – there are a number of free services available to resize and crop images: - [https://resizeimage.net/](https://resizeimage.net/) - [https://www.img2go.com/resize-image](https://www.img2go.com/resize-image) - [https://imageresizer.com/](https://imageresizer.com/) ### Deleting Images Click on the delete button (depicted as a rubbish bin icon) located on the image you want to remove.
